it’s true…I researched these samsung kled tv…..they are really just LCD TVs with LED backlighting…they just market to make u think they are real LED….Im just happy with my $700 1080p lcd hd tv….after all your eyes can only see so much…how much clarity do u really want??
The reporter apparently hasn’t understood that these screens are still LCD screens. It’s just the backlight technology that has changed from fluorescent tubes to LEDs.
These tv’s are not LCD with LED backlight. These are truly LED tv’s. They do have a great picture too. Samsung is the only manufacture that has them out right now.
No man, you have been tricked by the ads like a lot of others. These are just LCD TVs with LED backlighting. The term “Full LED” actually means that the LEDs are located behind the LCD panel (LG). Samsung, on the other hand, has so far put their LEDs along the edges of the screen and used diffusers to spread the light evenly behind the screen. LGs approach is better because it allows the LEDs brightness to be controlled individually so dark areas can be really dark.
A qoute from ‘koreatimes’ to clarify even more:”Samsung and LG can debate all they want in claiming that their LED models are better than the other’s. But lost in the verbal catfight is the fact that neither of these companies actually produce pure LED televisions that feature LED displays. Technically speaking, the televisions produced by Samsung and LG should be characterized as liquid crystal display (LCD) televisions that use LED backlighting.”
